Electrification of the bus fleet, service cars and expansion of the charging infrastructure

Echternach

Since 2017, Bollig Voyages has been providing the city of Echternach with a 100% electric mini bus (10.70 metres) for the “City-Bus-Echternach” route.

In order to ensure that driving and rest times are respected, it is necessary to switch bus drivers working on this route part-way through. Currently, four 100% electric RENAULT ZOE cars allow them to drive to the locations where they switch shifts. All vehicles are charged at fixed charging stations on the Echternach site (overnight-charging).

As part of its decarbonisation policy, Bollig Voyages aims to put 23 additional electric buses into service by 2022 at the latest. The company therefore plans to install 20 fixed charging stations as well as three pantographs; commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2021 at the latest. Furthermore, combustion engine service cars will be replaced by electric cars by the end of next year.
