Electrification of the truck fleet

In 2020, wholesaler BIOGROS acquired the first electric truck of its kind in Luxembourg for its regional distribution of organic produce.

Due to its outstanding energy and cost efficiency, the electric expansion of the fleet will bring economic and ecological advantages. Thanks to the highly efficient electric motor (around 95% efficiency), the energy consumption amounts to about 100 kWH / 100 km. This is only a third of that of a comparable conventional truck. The emission values are 1.3 kg / 100 km. BIOGROS’ future goal will be to gear its fleet towards a cleaner future.
